Board of Directors

Dear Patrons,

We are excited to announce another milestone for Provo Civic Ballet (PCB).  On January 11, 2012, the company was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization.  This move makes PCB eligible for grants and special funding that will further develop the dancers and give back to the community.

One of the first acts of the new board was to nominate Jennie Creer-King as the Artistic Director.  Over the past eight years, Jennie has shared her passion for ballet with hundreds of students at Classical Ballet Academy. She founded PCB in 2009 to give her dancers additional performance opportunities and to prepare them to dance in a university or professional setting.  So far, six PCB dancers have received full-ride college dance scholarships, six are participating in college dance programs, and three have enjoyed the opportunity to dance professionally with Ballet West and Houston Ballet, and with  Burklyn Ballet at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.  With the recent incorporation, the dream that Artistic Director Jennie Creer-King started continues to grow.

Three goals drive PCB’s work:

  1.  Provide dancers with exceptional instruction, performance opportunities, and exposure to world-class choreographers.
  2.  Engage the community in fine arts experiences that showcase the talent of PCB.
  3. Solicit partner and patron support to enhance PCB’s ability to deliver professional shows and community outreach programs.

We look forward to the coming years as PCB trains a new generation of dancers and solidifies its reputation as a premier ballet company.

Sincerely,

Steven J King,  Chairman

Mary Rutledge, Secretary

Hilary Hendricks, Board Member
