Director’s Notes

Congratulations Tiare Keeno.  Tiare received a 4 year full tuition scholarship (in dance) to the University of Arts in Philadelphia.  She also was awarded 1st runner up in the NYCDA national Senior outstanding dancer competition in New York.  Tiare will be a senior next year dancing with our Provo Civic Ballet and Training with Classical Ballet Academy before she leaves for school.  Again we couldn’t be more proud of your accomplishments.  Jennie Creer-King Artistic Director Provo Civic Ballet.

Congratulations Kazlyn Nielsen. After attending the Ballet West summer intensive on full scholarship this summer was offered a trainee position with Ballet West.  Kazlyn will be dancing with Provo Civic Ballet and training with Ballet West her senior year.  Congratulations Kazlyn.

Students from Classical Ballet Academy have attended (this summer) Boston Ballet Summer Program, Ballet West, Gelsie Kirkland, Burklyn Ballet, Move It (New Mexico) Summer Intensives.  Good Work.

Classical Ballet Academy was represented well at the YAGP International Ballet Competition in Denver.  Results are as follows:

Georgia Bear placed top 12 in the pre-competitive division

(Junior Division)Abby Roush and Susie Clawson tied for 2nd place in the contemporary division and top 12 in contemporary.

(Senior Division)Tiare Keeno, Kazlyn Nielsen, and Elizabeth McKnight placed top 12 in contemporary

Upcoming events include Provo Civic Ballet’s “Signatures”.  March 12th 7:30 pm at the Covey Performing Arts Center.  PCB will present excerpts of “Paquita” as well as three new works by Brian Reeder, Garrett Smith, and Viktor Plotnikov.

Classical Ballet Academy was featured in “Dance Spirit” magazine as one of the top 20 schools in the Nation.
